9:00am - 1:00pm        9/11 Memorial/Lower Manhattan Tour

The Memorial, sitting on the site of what many Americans called Ground Zero,  is a national tribute of remembrance and honor to the 2983 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001. Occupying eight of the 16 acres at the World Trade Center, the Memorial is a tribute to the past and a place of hope for the future. Your guide will lead you from the entry point through security providing commentary relevant to the memorial, but will allow you to explore the memorial on your own.

 

1:00pm - 2:30pm        Lunch (included) at White Horse Tavern

The White Horse Tavern is located on Bridge Street in Lower Manhattan. Lunch includes an entrée (a beef, chicken or seafood selection), 2 sides (ie.potato/rice, vegetable, dessert and beverage.

 

2:45pm - 4:00pm        Free time at South Street Seaport

South Street Seaport was once this country's leading port and is now a twelve-square-block historic district in lower Manhattan. For history buffs, the South Street Seaport Museum and Historic Ships are available during your free time to tour on your own.

 

 The focal point of South Street Seaport is Pier 17, a multilevel dockside shopping mall featuring standard-issue national chain retailers such as the Gap and Banana Republic, among others. A food court is located on the 3rd floor, and provides a nice view from the tables through the glass-walled atrium.
