TRIP ITINERARY:
10:15am Arrive Trenton, NJ 10:30am Guided tour of Grounds For Sculpture (lunch included) Grounds For Sculpture is a 35-acre sculpture garden with 250 contemporary, large-scale outdoor works by John Seward Johnson, as well as renowned and emerging American and international artists. Outdoor works are selected to compliment the landscaped environment. There is also a museum and bookstore to enhance our visit here.
12:30pm Lunch at Rat’s Restaurant (included) Why the name Rat's? In Kenneth Grahame's classic, The Wind in the Willows, one of Seward Johnson's favorite books, the character Ratty represented everything a host should be. As founder of Rat's and Grounds For Sculpture, Johnson likens himself to Ratty who threw the best parties with the best wine. Likewise, the two share delightful imaginations and far-reaching dreams. Menu consists of: Rat’s Salad (seasonal lettuces, petite tomato, cucumber, radish and sherry shallot vinaigrette), Herbs de Provence Roasted Chicken, Rat’s chocolate cake, coffee and tea service.
