Lunch to consist of Garden Salad with house dressing, a choice of 1) Broiled Mahi Mahi with a teriyaki glaze, 2) Broiled Salmon Filet, or 3) Semi Boneless Roast Chicken with home-style gravy, NY Cheesecake with strawberry topping and Coffee, Decaf, Tea or Soda. All entrees are served with chef’s choice vegetable, potato and house baked bread.

 

1:30pm - 4:00pm        Mark Twain Home & Museum

Step into the Gilded Age during a guided of this 19-room, Tiffany-decorated mansion where Mark Twain raised his family and worked from 1874 - 1891. During this incredibly productive period, Twain created such classics as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. At the Mark Twain Museum you'll visit the 2,000-square-foot gallery with changing exhibits, and see rare manuscripts, photos, artifacts, fine and decorative arts never before on display.

 

4:00pm - 5:00pm        Harriet Beecher Stowe Center

This historic site includes a Visitor Center (1873 carriage house) and museum shop, the Harriet Beecher Stowe House (1871) and the Katharine Seymour Day House (1884). A tour of the Stowe House provides an intimate glimpse into the life of the author of Uncle Tom's Cabin. The Day House offers magnificent interiors with changing exhibits and a research library. Visitors will enjoy the Center's tranquil surroundings, accented with historical Victorian gardens.
