Casual and comfortable for your touring pleasure. The average daily high temperature in Charleston & Savannah during October is mid-70s; the average daily low is mid-50s. The hotels contain indoor/outdoor swimming pools, so if you are interested, be sure to bring your swimsuit.

The resort features an indoor pool and spa, an oceanfront lazy river, and an additional pool, 4 hot tubs, an outdoor lazy river on the rooftop with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, affordable dining in the Shoreline Café and a fitness center.

Cracker Barrel, Roanoke Rapids, NC. 2 nights. Country cookin’ at its finest. A Cracker Barrel gift card will be available to use as you wish both evenings in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

 

River House, Savannah, GA. Located on historic River Street. Dinner to consist of: Ceasar salad, sour dough French bread with whipped butter, choice of Chicken Marsala (two boneless breasts sautéed with shiitake mushrooms, marsala wine, and demi-glace, served with buttermilk whipped potatoes), Blackened Mahi-Mahi (pan-seared with classic four pepper herbs, topped with fried capers, sautéed mushrooms, lemon butter sauce over angel hair pasta) or Shrimp Sautee (wild-caught domestic shrimp, pan sautéed with mushrooms, spinach, and white wine herb sauce, served over angel hair pasta and topped with crispy fried capers), iced tea, pecan pie or fudge walnut pie with coffee.

 

The Lady & Sons Restaurant, Savannah, GA. A Genuine Southern Buffet is yours to enjoy at the Food Network’s cooking show host Paula Deen’s very own Savannah restaurant, The Lady & Sons. The Lady and Sons restaurant had its humble beginnings back in June 1989 when Paula Deen started The Bag Lady out of her home. The Bag Lady began as a lunch delivery service with Paula's sons, Jamie and Bobby, delivering bag lunches to area business people in their offices around town. As the delivery and catering business grew, The Bag Lady expanded in 1991 into a full service restaurant named The Lady. In December 1999, The Lady and Sons was named "International Meal of the Year" by USA Today. In December 2002, the restaurant was featured in a multi-page feature article in Southern Living Magazine. California Dreaming Restaurant, Charleston, SC. This delightful restaurant features waterfront dining on the Ashley River. Dinner to consist of: House salad, choice of 1) Fried Shrimp Platter, 2) House Special 8 oz. Prime Rib, 3) Marinated Chicken or 4) Baby Back Ribs, choice of side item (creamed spinach, steamed vegetables, french fries, baked potato, fettucine alfredo or fettucine marinara, dessert and iced tea, coffee or soda fountain drink

Savannah River Cruise, Savannah, GA. Middleton Place Plantation, Charleston, SC. Middleton Place is a National Historic Landmark and a carefully preserved 18th-century plantation that has survived revolution, Civil War, and earthquake. It was the home of four important generations of Middletons, beginning with Henry Middleton, President of the First Continental Congress; Arthur, a signer of the Declaration of Independence; Henry, Governor of South Carolina and an American Minister to Russia; and Williams, a signer of the Ordinance of Secession. At Middleton you will tour the Gardens, the House Museum and the Plantation Stableyards.

 

Drayton Hall, Charleston, SC. Drayton Hall is the oldest unrestored plantation house in America that is open to the public. Built between 1738 and 1742, this National Historic Landmark stands between the Ashley River Road and the Ashley River, a state scenic river. Having survived for more than 250 years in an almost original condition, the main house is noted as one of finest examples of Georgian Palladian architecture in the nation and for its exceptionally rich handcrafted detail. Battleship North Carolina, Wilmington, NC. USS North Carolina (BB-55) was a battleship of the United States Navy, the lead ship of the two-ship North Carolina class. The USS Washington (BB-56) was her sister ship. She was the third Navy ship named for the state of North Carolina. The North Carolina saw combat action in the Pacific theater of World War II.
