10:00am Arrive Tarrytown, NY 10:00am - 11:40am Tour Washington Irving’s Sunnyside Sunnyside is a historic house on 10 acres of grounds alongside the Hudson River. It was formerly the home of noted early American author Washington Irving, and is a National Historic Landmark. Sunnyside contains a large collection of Irving's original furnishings and accessories. In particular, all furniture and most accessories in his writer's study are original. The dining room, drawing room, and picture gallery, as well as most bedrooms, are open to the public and contain much of their original furnishings.
12:00pm - 1:30pm Brunch (included) at Zanaro’s Restaurant in White Plains, NY A memorable brunch is included in a restored Beaux-Arts-style building that was formerly the Home Savings Bank. The brunch menu consists of: fresh green salad with choice of house dressings, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and basil salad, Eggs Benedict, French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Penne ala Vodka and Rigatoni Bolognese, Chicken of the Day, Fresh Fish of the Day, oven roasted herbed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Omelets made to order & Carving Station, Dessert Station featuring fresh fruit and assorted signature items and regular coffee, decaf, hot or iced tea (tax and gratuity included)
2:00pm - 3:30pm Tour Lyndhurst Castle Tour one of America’s great castles once owned by one of America’s ten richest people, Jay Gould. This Gothic Revival castle with towers and spires looms up on 67 acres of sweeping lawns and gardens. See the original furnishings designed for the home and amazing stained glass windows.
