Attractions:

Antique Boat Museum - The museum is located on a scenic harbor in Clayton, NY, and houses over 200 antique freshwater craft and accessories. Watch as a craftsman builds or restores a wooden boat or relax in the video room and view a short informative film that both entertains and educates you on the historic St. Lawrence River.

1000 Islands cruise - Thousand Islands-Seaway Region. Rich in history and blessed with unparalled natural beauty, the Thousand Islands region has long been a vacation destination. The native peoples called this region the “Garden of the Great Spirit.” Today, many people still remark that this gorgeous garden of woods and waters that is the Thousand Islands is truly one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Did you know there are actually over 1,800 islands (1,864 to be exact) that make up the 1000 Islands region? To become an official part of the count, an island must meet two criteria: it must be above water 365 days a year and it must support two living trees.

The islands are unique, and each has its own individuality with features such as stately granite cliffs, soft sandy bays, tall dark pines and vibrant maple trees—it’s a sightseer’s paradise.

Boldt Castle - Millionaire George C. Boldt - proprietor of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City - set out to build a full-sized Rhineland-style castle on Heart Island for his beloved wife Louise. Construction began in 1900 on a six-story, 120-room castle, complete with a drawbridge and Italian gardens. Then in 1904 tragedy struck. Boldt telegrammed the island and commanded the workers to “stop all construction.” His wife had died unexpectedly. Boldt never returned to the island. The castle remained vacant for 73 years. Since 1977, millions of dollars have been invested in the restoration of the Heart Island structures and the Yacht House on Wellesley Island.

Thousand Islands Winery - The Thousand Islands Winery is located in Jefferson County, New York. It is the most northern winery in New York State. The winery is located on a farm that was built in 1836.  The farm was later owned and operated by Captain Massey and his wife Ida in the 1930's. Captain Massey was a famous Riverboat Captain. He owned a huge Great Lake Vessel that he eventually sold to the Department of Defence for the war effort during World War II. Steve and Erika Conaway purchased the Farm in December 2002.  Upon Steve's retirement from the military, they decided to create a winery in Alexandria Bay, NY.

Visit Sackets Harbor - The historic village of Sackets Harbor was the United States' most important shipbuilding center during the War of 1812. Headquarters for the U.S. Navy on the Great Lakes, it was home to thousands of shipwrights, carpenters, sailors, and soldiers gathered to construct, sail, and defend the fleet. During the War of 1812, one third of the United States Army, and a quarter of its Navy, were stationed at Sackets Harbor. Savor fine dining at several outstanding village restaurants, pubs and local coffee houses.
